Hey Gentrie, I'm 19 and I, too have gastroparesis. I do believe yours is worse than mine though. I'm sorry you've had to go through so much trouble, but I truly hope the pace maker works for you! If you need anything or would just like to chat, you can look me up on facebook or email me. I'll be praying for you!

I know exactly what you're going thru. My sister-in-law has the same thing, plus diabetes. She's been in and out of the hospital many times the past few years. After battling with the insurance company, she was finally able to get the stimulator, but she still has problems from time to time. Any little sign of infection, even just a cold, throws her whole body off. If she can't eat, her sugar messes up. Sugar messes up, everything else messes up. Its just a cycle that seems to get harder and harder to break. But, she's hanging in there, still working and taking care of her family. I know no everybody knows about this condition or disease or whatever it is, but you are not alone. Take care of yourself and make the dr's listen to you. If you are anything like my SIL, YOU are the only one that really knows what's going on with your body. Take care!
I have neuropathic pseudo obstruction syndrome and have been vomiting for the past 2 1/2 years... even though I am TPN dependent now. My colon doesn't work... my small bowel doesn't work, except for a small section of the upper portion... but even that doesn't move things along the right way... and my stomach doesn't work either. Every night I vomit 4- 5 times... most of the time it's just yellow and green bile... sometimes it's nothing, and I just dry heave and wretch. I canā??t sleep in my bed because of it. I can't have a gastric pacemaker... so they tell me, because of all the other problems. My bladder also stopped working a few months ago... so now I have to use a catheter. I get a migraine headache every week.... my hands go numb and I lose vision. Iā??ve seen 45 doctors in the past 2 years because of thisā?¦ one of them being Dr. Di Lorenzo. I know him well. I hope you feel better, I know how it is to not be able to eat and have to sit and watch every other person in the house enjoy themselves. I know how it is to be nauseous all the timeā?¦ and have them not be able to help you fix it. I know how it is to be in pain. Hang in there. Because if Dr. Di Lorenzo can help youā?¦ then he has to be able to help me right??
Gentrie I hope you are doing well with your pacemaker! I hope that it helps you eat! You hang in there! Let me know how you are doing! I miss you so much!
Gentrie...hang tuff! You're story has inspired me; I'll be praying for you. I have gastroparesis and was searching for info when I found you. Mine is not as severe as yours but I do understand. I'm an Ohio girl (hope the docs there do ya right!) I'll be back there visiting family July23-27. I'm already concerned because family gatherings always are around food. People not exposed to this do NOT umderstand. I was diagnosed 2 yrs ago. I've been up & down my weight. I struggle daily with nausea, some vomiting. I'm 5'10so when I lose 10-15 lbs in a couple of weeks- I look anorexic and I know that's what prople think...so frustrating! It hurts to eat! I mean painful! Then when I do it can only be certain things. I take Zofran daily been round & round with the GI world. I'll keep watching your story to see how it turns out. Don't ever give up!!!!! You're so young & beautiful; I believe you'll get thru this and get to some normalcy in your life...praying for you! Marianne Smith,Allen, TX.

Sweet precious girl..I'm so affected by your story, can't stop thinking about you! DO NOT GIVE UP---THERE IS HELP. JESUS CHRIST WILL SAVE YOU. I had mild gastroparesis for about a year along with a lot of other GI issues... I cannot compare my years of torment to anything you have gone through, but my heart aches for your TEMPORARY time of pain. My daughter, Lauren and I will pray for you every single night! We have a Yorkie too! Love your beautiful smile, your adorable personality transcends through your pictures. May God bless you sweet girl.
In Christ,

Gentrie - a friend of mine sent me the news clip of your story as I had a very similar condition over 15 years ago. I was about your age when I started throwing up everything I would eat. It last for almost 2 years before it finally subsided and eventually became a random occurrence. I too was tested for a vary of things but they could never figure out what was wrong with me. I didn't lose as much weight as you but still understand the battle you are facing. I remember the struggles and frustration of being so sick. I truly hope the medical profession has made advances to be able to help you. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. Stay positive and keep fighting. I am now 28 years old, healthy and happy and I wish the same for you.
