Kids just made their own Hatcher Homecoming calendar to mark off the days. Add to your blog the actually day you will arrive in Prather Woods. It is hard to translate the time zones. Jon was just studying China in his geography book and learned so many cool things about the regions. Like the Plateau of Tibet--the highest region in the world!! Will you at least fly over it? You are bringing another country and culture alive to us. Peanuts is great! Miss you. Counting down...

I am soooo sorry that you are going through such a tough time right now, but I know things will get better. My heart, also, hurts for little Xin.....everything is so new and different to him....and it will be even more so when y`all get. home. So patience and PRAYER are the two primary ingredients for making the big change for all of you! We love you so much and pray that this last week will be much better for all of you.May God continue to pour His blessings on you and may He guide, direct and protect you every day in every way...hugs and kisses!!

We are in prayer for all of you--throughout these trying times -- knowing that our Lord will guide and direct each of you in ministering to Xin. Your Rainbow's End is in sight---keep that in your hearts!

I hate that you guys are struggling right now! I think of what a consistent (routine) life Xin must have had since being in the orphanage, and all of a sudden he is faced with new surroundings, choices (that he has NEVER had to make), people that look so unfamiliar to him, and sounds so unfamiliar to him. This will take time - much more time than with Jaida (especially with the language barrier). Know that you will form a life together quickly, and once he has more consistency - he will start conforming more. Consistency will be sooo important - especially with the language barrier! I can imagine this is very hard for Julia, Sam, and Jaida as well - they are such incredible kids and I know they will find the patients and strength to adjust and help you all through this. Amy and Will - you are WONDERFUL parents, and I just think of what a terrific family that Xin has joined! Hang in there!!!

Hang in there! Poor little guy is probably experiencing a million different emotions and feelings - I can't imagine what my little 4 yr old Ham would be feeling and saying if he was given to a Chinese family(probably something about cars and hotdogs -- so nothing too threatening) -- it is a HUGE adjustment that is going to take a LONG time!!! Once he starts learning the language I think that will help a ton! Keep on truckin - enjoy your last week and just let him have his tantrums.

Hi Amy!!!
Where are y'all going to be staying in Guangzhou? We've got friends that just got to Guangzhou and are staying at Riverside Hotel. Let me know if y'all are going to be there and y'all could meet up with fellow Georgians!! Oh, and he's from Augusta, too!

Hey Amy and family,
Ella and I have just read through your last 6 days and I have laughed and cried. I'm so thankful that God chose you guys to adopt Xin. What a journey you guys are on - it is a blessing to know that the Lord is carrying you through it but I know it is still so hard!! We will be praying and praying over the next 8 days. Love - Gaby

Eight more days - holy smokes, you're getting closer and closer to day 20! I'm so sorry that Day 12 was brutal. But ya'll are doing great - just think that 2 days out of 12 isn't horrible (that's easy for me to say, I'm not there). When I have bad/patience-draining days with Darden, I really try to focus on the positive - what she's accomplished, what she can do and how far she's come......and how God chose us to be her parents. All of these thoughts apply to you guys, and just remember the the line from Steel Magnolias, "that which does not kill us only makes us stronger." Okay, enough of my pep/soapbox talk - love ya'll so much, and you all remain in our prayers! xoxoxoxo, Betsy

Hey guys, you all look great in the pictures that you share with us. Can't wait to get you guys back to Georgia and meet Xin. Glad to hear that he's a loving, caring little fella and I'm sure the "frustrating" side of his personalty will ease as he learns to communicate with yall better. Hang in there, you guys are blessed to have him and he is blessed to have a family like you to love and care for him. Julia, you looked good showing off some of your soccer skills and I like the Man U jersey. Sam, you look like a star in the Brazil jersey and Jaida does indeed resemble a princess. Thanks for keeping us updated through this website and I will continue to lift you in my prayers. Love yall!
