What next when rescue turns to recovery 2008-05-15 13:33:30.0

Beichuan County-gone, obliterated-just like that.

Mind-boggling.  How does one wrap their head and most especially their heart around "recovery" when they desperately want the families rescued?  This still weighs so heavy on my heart.  When you can still hear the cries of children, mothers, fathers, grandmothers, grandfathers and know they can't get to all of them.    Such tragedy and in the wake of Myanmar.....

Jenna's orphanage did have structural damage inside-walls collapsing and cracks in the building.  Noone hurt there and I believe the babies are being kept somewhere safe but there was a picture of the collapsed school in the headlines-Liangping.

Ford made a statement today that they will match donations and I'm going to try to link the site.  Half the Sky is a fantastic organization and if you have time you can read over it you will understand why.  We donate to them as well as a specific organization that helps Jenna's orphanage.

If you feel called to help financially, I think this would be a good place to start.  I'm sure there are many others as well.  I just know that Half the Sky had stated that Ford will be matching funds donated through this site.

The news today calls into question China's "one child policy" and the effects this tragedy will have on these families.  It has been said that so far the majority of deaths are children.  Please keep all of the families in your prayers.
