Mama and Baby Are Vegas Bound!

Mama and baby Jonah are taking their first trip together to Las Vegas to visit Grandma and Grandpa Esposo, next week Dec 16th-19th. Excited to put our baby travel gear to use and experience first hand what it's like traveling with a baby. I'll be updating via FB, and maybe via tweets. It's also Manong's 50th birthday celebration and what a more exciting destination to celebrate a 50th milestone.
Unfortunately Papa John won't be joining us for the trip, but we'll be thinking of him every step of the way!

According to What To Expect The First Year, "Your infant is just entering what might be considered the golden age of babyhood-a period of several enchanted months when good humor reigns during the day, more sleep is happening at night, and independent mobility has yet to be achieved (which means your baby will continue to stay pretty much where you put him or her, limiting mischief and mayhem; enjoy this while it lasts)."
I thought this was one of the most fun opening statements I've read to date.
Lots of exciting progress over the past month. Notable Moments and a recap from the third month:
1/10/2010 Rolled over on his own! An O-M-G moment. We've officially moved from playing on the bed or couch to playing on the floor full time! I need to get my hands on the the Skip Hop Floor Tiles asap! For now, we're on the flokati rug over our wood floors.
Showing an interest in food and eating real food!
Loves being read to. His favorite book is a crinkly fabric book.
Ticklish and laughs when you say he has "Funky Folds."
Tummy time progress for longer periods without the bobby!
Jonah enjoyed his first Christmas and New Year's Eve/Day
Reached and grabbed the hanging toy on his activity mat
Can sit up with a little help
Neck is getting stronger and can almost support himself

After three attempts, Jonah learns to roll over. Now, it's all he wants to do during tummy time. Was definitely the highlight of our week!

It's pretty spot on with what the books say about babies in their 4th month. Jonah's 4th month has been one of the most fun, entertaining and social times and we are looking forward to what the fifth month has in store!

January 2010 - Can fully support his neck
January 11, 2010 - Reconnected with my former prenatal yoga classmates and have formed our own playgroup, Rogue PePpers, meeting on Mondays rotating at someone's home. It's been quite refreshing reconnecting with them again and meeting their new babies.
First and ongoing playdates with Beah!
January 15, 2010 - Jonah receives his 4-month immunization shots, followed by a brief cry, then a nice long nap.
January 16, 2010 - We received confirmation from our parish for Jonah's baptism - Save The Date! April 11, 2010
January 18, 2010 - Jonah attends his first mini music class with our playgroup, taught by Sharon Chang and he LOVED it. So I ordered him some Hohner baby music instruments and we've been rocking out every morning since
18 Weeks: Jonah rolls over!
January 25, 2010 - Jonah learns to rub his eyes. Not the most safe thing for a baby to do, but it's a really cute gesture that he know how to do such a thing.
Jonah learns to scream, I do not know how or from whom, but the boy has a big voice and big vocal chords and screams (rather than squeals) in delight.(Great)
January 26, 2010 - Mama returns to work and baby Jonah stays with Lola Tuesday - Friday from 11AM - 3PM. Not a bad schedule to be away from baby during the midday, meanwhile we still have the mornings together to bond when Jonah is at his best behavior, most playful and alert, followed by the afternoon when it's time for his end of day nap. So far, it's been working out really well. Thanks Mom!
January 31, 2010 - Jonah's first solid food: Rice Cereal, yum! After 3 spoon feeds, he'd had enough. We'll continue for one week and will move on to a first veggie!
Jonah takes a liking to his feet, his right foot in particular.

February 15, 2010 (5 mo)- Hosted the Rogue PePpers playgroup at Jonah's Treehouse
February 17, 2010 (5 mo) - Got a Bebepod+ for Jonah!
February 2010 (5 mo) - Time to break out the bib and chair for his second encounter with carrots!
February 20, 2010 (5 mo) - Jonah shows an understanding of and a liking towards our dogs Gir & Chaka.
February 21, 2010 (5 mo) - Jonah can switch objects from hand to hand.
February 28, 2010 (5 mo) - First Rogue PePpers Family BBQ at Seward Park
March 1, 2010 (5 mo) - Jonah attends a Kindermusik class at the Soundbridge
March 6, 2010 (5 mo) - Began highchair shopping.
March 7, 2010 (5 mo) - Jonah's (pre) 6-month photo session with friend & family photographer Jennifer Tai.
