"This is my country, land of by birth."  Well, not necessarily land of Joshua's birth but our USA became his country today.  That song has a very special place in our family as from as early as Emily could speak she has been singing that song.  She loves patriotic songs and knows every word to "This is my country" and "Grand Ol' Flag".  Whether she comprehends it or not she is definately proud to be an American and it is my sincere hope and prayer that our Joshua will have the same passion for his American citizenship.

We traveled to the US Consulate today with about 9 other families and together we took on oath on behalf of our son Joshua Lewis Minot.  The appt. attended this morning by our guide and our oath will now allow our sweet boy to instantly become a US Citizen upon entry into the United States.  I stood with my hand raised today and glanced over to my little China born son who was abandoned on the steps of an office building all dressed in his American Flag shirt thanking God today that Joshua's future will be filled with great hope.  He will have every opportunity that we can possibly provide for him to be the man God has ordained him to be.  I think about my sweet Emily today and how her passion and love for the Lord burns strong in her heart.  A knowledge and a love that may have never been available to her had she remained in China and now our Joshua will have that same opportunity to come to know the love of the God who made him.  May he become a mighty warrior for the Lord filled with a love that burns strong for his Lord.

Rejoicing tonight for the gift of my little American!
