FANTASTIC NEWS and More photos! · September 13, 2007

Brea had her first appointment today since our move.  We saw a transplant cardiologist at the Sanger Clinic (Part of Carolina's Medical Center) in Charlotte.  We were referred to them by our transplant team at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock.  They weighed her (21 pounds!), measured her (29.5 inches!), took her blood pressure, did an EKG and she saw the doctor.  He said she looks great and her EKG looks great too!  When he realized that we live 3.5 hours away, he asked why we were not going to Duke.  I told him that ACH had referred us to him and he assurred me that Duke was very capable of doing Brea's follow up care and working with ACH.  He said that they (Duke and Sanger Clinic) work together and he is very familiar with thier program.  The FANTASTIC NEWS is that Duke is only 30 minutes from our home!  Charlotte is 3.5 hours away so it makes for a long day when you drive there, have your appointment and then drive home.  He decided not to do an echocardiogram because Duke will be seeing us NEXT WEEK so we can get established with them.  I can't begin to tell you how exciting this is for us.  I've driven 12,000 miles since the end of April and it really takes its toll on you.  Brea doesn't understand what all this means but I'm positive that she will appreciate it when she doesn't have to be strapped in her carseat all day!  God is so good!

I've added a few more photos taken over the last couple of weeks.  Enjoy!

Good night from Wake Forest where the caffeine that I drank today on the trip is keeping me up tonight!
