We have done little to nothing our last 2 days here in China. Yesterday Joshua and I hung out in the hotel room, made a few trips to the play room here in the hotel, took a few walks but for the most part I have nothing exciting or eventful to report other than the fact that Joshua broke a tea cup here in our hotel room which were were promptly charged $7.  I am sure this is just the first of many things this curious little boy will break.  As I have said, if it is not nailed down it will be explored.
Today is our last day here and we spent the morning with another adoptive mom and her daughter, Evelyn.  We met them on our first day here in Guangzhou.  They are a Chinese couple who live in New Jersey and are adopting sweet little Evelyn.  Evelyn has been have a really tough time.  Her experience in the orphanage must not have been good because she has this empty look deep in her little eyes that tells me her heart is grieving.  I just wanted to scoop her up and love all the hurt away.  I sat at the playground and watched my full of life, energetic boy who obviously has been loved by someone contrasted to this precious little girl who has never been hugged according to what her mom was told by the nannies who cared for her and my heart grieved to think that there are hundred's of thousands precious ones just like Evelyn throughout this country who have no idea what it feels like to have warm arms enveloped them in a hug.    So as we prepare to say goodbye to the birthplace of two of my children, I leave with a heavy heart, thankful that I have the opportunity to envelope two of these children with warm hugs and lots of love but hurting for all those we leave behind.
As we depart this time, I know that we will not return and I while my heart is heavy I rejoice that the little prince is coming home.  Coming home to a brother and two sisters who love him and are so excited for us to begin life as a family.  He will be embraced by family and friends who have eagerly and prayerfully awaited his arrival.
So,  goodbye from Guangzhou.  Next post will be from sunny Colorado!
