Last week the kids and I drove to Little Rock for another check up for Brea. She had an echocardiogram, an EKG, a chest x-ray and lab work. All of the results came back great! She is doing fine! She is now on 5 medicines twice a day. It seems like a cake walk compared to the amount of medicines and the number of times a day she had to take them when she came home in April.
While we were in Florida we learned that we will soon be moving to the Raleigh, NC area! Danny will be the operations manager for the Raleigh distribution center. We've always considered Raleigh home since it is where we met, married and bought our first home. I went to NC State but am a true Blue Duke basketball fan and I can't wait to get back to the ACC and March Madness! Danny loves sports in general and is excited to be going back to an area where there is always a sporting event of some type going on.
We spent several days in Raleigh last week house hunting and we plan to close on our new home on the 28th. The movers will be here to pack us on the 27th and 28th and they will load us up on the 29th and 30th. We are scheduled for delivery on the 1st.
It is a bitter sweet move for us. We are excited to be just a two hour drive from my family and even more excited to learn that Brea will be able to receive follow up care in Charlotte which is where my family lives. The Little Rock transplant team will oversee all of her care and we will return to Little Rock once a year for her annual check up. We will miss seeing the transplant team because they have been such an important part of our lives over the last six months and they are wonderful people but I know they too want the best for Brea and our family. It will be hard to say goodbye to our neighbors, friends and our church family. We have been blessed with so many wonderful friends here in the Baton Rouge area and they have stood by us in the most difficult time in our lives but we know that they will rejoice with us as this is a good move for our family. I look back and laugh now when I think of how sad we were when we left Mississippi in December of 2005. We thought we would never find a church like the one we were leaving behind but the first call we made when Brea was admitted to the hospital was to our pastor HERE in Prairieville and that is when we knew that we were "home" at RCC. We know that the Lord will lead us to a new church home but we will never again walk through a church's doors without thinking of the church family that showed us the hands and heart of Christ in the most difficult time in our lives.
It has been such a blessing to watch God work in our lives. I've always said that HIS plans for us are always so much better than the plans that we come up with on our own and this is no exception. I am eager to see where He will lead us and how He will use us in Raleigh. I don't know what I would do without the scripture that sees me through each and every change in my life.
"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me in earnest, you will find me when you seek me."

Please keep our family in your prayers in the coming weeks. There is much to get done and there will be many difficult moments for all of us as we say goodbye to our friends here in Baton Rouge. Please pray for our safety as we travel 15 hours on the last leg of this journey and for God to lead us to a new church in our new town so we can start to feel at home there.
