Happy New Year! · January 04, 2010

The Wusterbarths rang in the New Year in style...in our pjs!  We let the kids stay up as late as they wanted and they outlasted their dad.  He was asleep by 9:00, the little girls were out by 10:30 and Brooke, Baker and I watched the count down and then the neighbor's fireworks until about 1AM.  New Years day was filled with football and puzzles....lots and lots of puzzles.  It was great to have a few days with no plans and to have Danny home with us.  We accomplished lots of little house projects (filters, bulbs, etc.), played outside when the weather permitted and watched holiday movies when it didn't.  I think we only ventured out ONCE during the entire weekend and that was to take Bailey to her first movie...Alvin and the Chipmunks.  When the screen lit up she looked at me and said "Momma, that is a big tv".  Her eyes were the size of saucers and her hands stayed over her ears for at least half of the movie.  She had a good time but I think we will wait a bit before we try another movie since she fell asleep about 3/4 of the way through.

The New Year also started with Brea's quarterly transplant check up.  Her echo, EKG, exam and heart function were all NORMAL!!! Her blood pressure was 88/53 WITHOUT medication and the lab techs got her bood draw with just ONE stick.  She is now on just TWO medications (Prograf and Cellcept) twice a day...that is a long ways from the eighteen medications three times a day that she was on less than three years ago!  She will have a heart biopsy in March in Little Rock and if all goes well she will not need another one for two years.  She will continue to have quarterly check ups and be seen as needed for any fevers or signs of trouble.  God continues to bless Brea with good health and I still believe that He has big plans for our sweet baby girl!

2010 promises to be a busy year for us.  Baseball will be in full swing again soon, the girls will soon gear up for dance recitals and Brooke's dance team will soon enter a busy competition season.  School will be out before we know it and the neighborhood pool will become our hang out...let's hope Bailey likes it more than she did the pool in China!  We pray that your New Year will be filled with good health, family, friends and an abundance of laughter.  May God bless and keep you safely in His care.

Enjoy the photos!
