Here are a few pictures of the kids taken earlier today. Brooke was a VERY happy camper since the 7th graders got free dress day and she was able to wear green to school. Baker on the other hand was not so happy. He thought he should have been able to wear green since he is Irish (or so he thinks since he has red hair). Happy or not, he went to school dressed in his uniform! When I dressed the little girls this morning and explained that it was St. Patrick's Day, Brea wanted to know if there would be presents. I think she was expecting a little leprecaun to show up with presents like Santa does. I had to break the news that there would be no presents for St. Patrick's Day. Luckily, I had picked up a book at Barnes and Noble about St. Patrick's Day and had a couple of packs of M&Ms that satisfied her need for a St. Patrick's Day present.
The flowers were a gift from Brea and Bailey. They were plucked from my neighbor's yard while we were chatting this afternoon. I didn't have the heart to tell them that all but one were weeds so I gave them water and proudly displayed them in the kitchen window sill. Priceless!
