Today was the big day! We left our hotel for the Beijing Airport at 8:20 and arrived at The Lakeside Hotel in Fuzhou around 4:00. We were given 15 minutes to get to our rooms, get our paperwork together, and meet on the 3rd floor at the elevators. We got there a few minutes early and while we were waiting, they started bringing the babies. We saw Sutton come off the elevator, and Layne immediately said, "Hey, where are they going with our baby?" After that it was just mass chaos. Officials, orphanage reps, new parents, new siblings, babies, and children all crammed into a tiny conference room with a huge table. I really can't remember what happened after that. It's just a blur, but here are the pictures.

Today was Gotcha Day and the beginning of the Harmonious Period which is the time between Gotcha and the official adoption. The purpose is to see if you want the baby. Tomorrow at 9:30 we will go to the Civil Affairs Office and the notary to complete the adoption.
