Happy New Year · December 31, 2007

2007 has ended and a new year has begun.  We decided to let the kids stay up late and ring in the new year with us but only Brooke made it to see the ball drop on Time Square.  Brea and Baker were sound asleep by 9:00.

As I look back on 2007 I can honestly say that I am glad it is behind us.  It was a tough year and as I look back on all the events of the year I can't help but wonder how I managed to keep my sanity and still have hair.  We were barely into 2007 when Brea was hospitalized.  The rest of the year is pretty much a blur.  There were MANY changes for our family but our faith in God sustained us and kept us strong as a family unit even though we were spread across three different cities in two different states.  We learned a lot about ourselves, each other, the kindness of strangers, the love of family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, our church family and the strength of the China adoption community.  I want to once again thank each of you for being part of Brea's story.

I have many prayers for 2008...

I pray that Brea's little body will continue to accept her new heart.

I pray for Brooke and Baker to make many more new friends.

I pray that our entire family stays healthy this year.

I pray that we will become deeply rooted in our new church.

I pray that Brea's story will continue to reach those who need to witness a miracle to believe!

I pray for our troops safety.

I pray for the little ones left behind in China still waiting for their forever families and last but not least...

I pray that God will show me a way to use Brea's story to benefit others.

May God bless you in the new year.

Love in Christ,

Mary
