We awoke to sunshine and blue skies today! What a blessing. We actually got hot. It really was very uplifting to have some nice weather. We went to the Olympic village area today and saw the Bird's Nest, Water Cube, Torch "thingy" for lack of a better word and the Olympic athletes residences. It was in a beautiful area of town that was quiet and with less traffic. It was amazing how big the area was. Very cool. We saw a group of young guys doing some pretty cool soccer moves and we watched awhile. Then Julia showed them a little of her stuff. We found out they were filming an ad for a drink. Wes, you would have been proud. Later we went to a clothing market and the kids got soccer jerseys from Brazil and Manchester United. We had dinner and then to bed early for the littles-although they are still moving around as I type. Xin did ok today. He just gets mad when you tell him no-which seems to be quite often. He also wants to be carried constantly. He is very affectionate. He got in bed with Will and I this morning and made sure we each had one of his hands. Of course then when we NEED to hold his hand he won't. A process, a slow process but still each day I think we move somewhat forward.
The 6 yr old that was adopted with our group tested positive for tb. He will get an xray in Guangzhou and if that is positive he will have to remain here 1 month. That means that Amy, his mom, will have to remain here also. They have 3 other kids she homeschools. They are asking for prayers for a NEGATIVE chest xray. I can't imagine! Please remember them in your prayers if you can.
Three more days here and off to Guangzhou! And one week from now it will be our last night in China. We can do it!!!!!
