Mary, if you read this, can I get the name of your church in Baton Rouge? I have an idea and would like to talk with someone there about it. Thanks, Melissa

I cannot put into words how happy I am for all of the progress. I am so eager each day to go to your site to check on Brea's progress. I pray that one day our paths will cross and I will get to see God's little miracle child! My prayes are that your entire family will feel God's warm hug and know that He is so present and everything is going to be fine. There's power in prayer! Have great days!

Oh, Mary, through tears of incredible joy I write this morning! Brea has come such a long way, and our God is SO AWESOME! I am so happy for you to have your baby out of the hospital and enjoying life! Do you have to stay inside the RMcD House, or can Brea go to the park, zoo, library, etc? There are some fun things for little ones to do, especially story times at the library, the zoo, children's museums, etc. There are a couple of parks close by too. Call me if you need/want to go anywhere. I know my kids would love to finally meet Brea (and I must admit that I would love to meet that shining star in person, too)! Anna, my daughter, has become quite interested in Baker and Brooke (especially Brooke--they are about the same age). Anyway, if you guys can get out, and need transport, let me know. I know you don't need the added expense of a rental car. I am continuing to pray for you. I know that financial burdens, especially life-long ones can be so draining. My son has had epilepsy since he was 1 and a 1/2. We have had a hard time getting insurance. We finally qualified for Medicaid when my daughter was diagnosed with asthma as a baby. Their daily medications would run us at least $3000.00 a month (and they keep going up) if we did not have coverage. I know how upsetting it is to know that your child needs these meds to live, or have any quality of life, and yet they seem out reach! Thank goodness you have had your faith and the power of prayer to get you through. I didn't when our children first became ill, and I just about went crazy with worry. I thank God that He led others to pray for us, or I don't know where we would be today. I know it can be very hard to let go (especially if you are used to being in control, or think that you are), but when we finally realize that we have never been in control, God has, and that we were only fooling ourselves and putting up a barrier between ourselves and God, and then we finally surrender it all to Him, the blessings flow forth and the peace is beyond measure or understanding. I know I have learned that lesson in my life (actually still learning) and through watching your journey in faith. Nothing brings you to your knees like the illness of your child, and if we choose the right path, nothing brings you closer to God! You are so strong, as is the rest of your family, and these things will all work out! Get some rest, and know that we are all praying for you. Most importantly, God will provide! Mary, I read this website everyday to see how Brea is doing and some of the other children there. I always tell Roger everything you write. We are so happy about how well everything is going for Brea. A heart transplant one week and going to step down the next and then the next the Ronald McDonald House. Wow! That is great! Until you have had a child in ACH, or any hospital, it is hard to imagine what it is like to be there. One day you are so happy that your child is doing great and the next day things can be different. When your child is doing great and someone else's child isn't doing as well it is hard to be happy because you know what other parents are going through and feeling. I guess what I am trying to say is that it takes a lot ,and I mean a lot, of prayer to get through it. I know that trying to figure out how to pay for the hospital bills and prescriptions has got to be very stressful. But, just remember how sick Brea was when she first went to the hospital and how everytime when she needed some help from God he always provided. He will also provide a way for all of the medical bills to be taken care of. After all, he created everything. There is a song we sing at church and I can't remember the title off hand, but the words go like this: "What a might God we serve. The angels bow before him. Heaven and Earth adore him. What a mighty God we serve."We will keep Brea and your family in our prayers. Please keep Cash and our family in yours.
