Mary - I saw your posting on the Bethany forum about your newest addition to the family. I'm thrilled for all of you. Brea has been an amazing blessing to so many people. Your family is the perfect family for this little one. We were in China in March to get our little girl and she underwent open-heart surgery 3 weeks after we were home from China. I'd do it all over again. All my love, Kim Kenward kenward.blogspot.com

Hi Mary! Goodness, never a dull moment by you either...first, I will keep Danny's dad and his family in my thoughts and prayers. You're right, Brea is testament to medical miracles that can happen, even when it seems nearly impossible. As far as adopting another child, WOW! That's incredible and I truly hope it all works out. I think it would be perfect for both you and Danny - first of all, you have experience (way too much, unfortunately) in the area of congenital heart defects, so that would be invaluable to this child. You would help her navigate whatever medical treatment was needed, just as you did so wonderfully for Brea. I think that you and Danny are loving and caring parents, and it's evident that your children are great kids. And as far as society goes, well, we're not the norm over here either. We have three children (which seems to be analogous these days to the families of six children that I remember from my youth - people will comment, "Oh, you are busy," or "Are they all yours?" Umm, yeah?) I also stay home with them, another throwback to the old days! We may not have as many material things, but I am so happy to be home with them and feel completely blessed. I wouldn't change it for the world. I often feel a longing for a fourth child, so I understand that as well. If your hearts are leading you in that direction, go for it! Blessings and peace, Kim

Mary. I am confused...I know you maxed out the insurance you had while in Louisiana, but did you get new insurance when Danny changed jobs? I know Brea would not be covered, even by the new insurance, but is your entire family without medical insurance? I hope this law is changed, considering the outrageous costs of basic healthcare and medicines. As for the new child, if God is calling you, you know what you will do. You must be incredibly strong to go into another potentially stressful situation involving heart issues. I know your faith is incredibly strong, and with God all things are possible, so I know you will listen for God's direction. I am sorry to hear about Danny's dad. Of course I will pray. "Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying." (Romans 12:12) Love, Cathy

So, it is a lazy Sunday morning and I picked up our local paper...there were two bits of interest...an article about the triathlon I participated in and a picture of the Wusterbarth family. I immediately had to stop and say a quick prayer prior to reading the article for hope that all was going well. Insurance caps are a drag. I hope you are able to help get this changed. If you would like a copy of the paper, please let me know.

Imagine my delight when I opened my paper this morning and found Brea's sweet face at the top of the front page! It got my day off to a wonderful start. It's a shame about the insurance caps. Hope something will be done to rectify the situation soon. If you'd like me to mail you the paper, please let me know. Melissa Rose Godmother to 2 angels from China
