Brea is such an inspiration to me! I check your website daily. Your whole family is in my thoughts and prayers. We brought home our daughter from China in 2000, and she is the joy of our life. Best wishes from upstate New York.

Praise God for your new home!!! It's so wonderful to hear how well Brea is doing despite everything that's she been through and is still going through. God is so very good and faithful! We are praying for Brea and for the rest of your family, and we'll specifically pray for a great biopsy result. Won't Brea be able to go home soon if the biopsy result is good? God bless, Melissa

Hi. My family and I have followed Brea's journey since shortly after she arrived in Arkansas. We have friends in Little Rock, Cindy and Jeff Woodall, that have spent time visiting with you. They shared your story with us.
We have prayed and prayed for Brea, as well as your entire family. We thank God, along with you, that she is doing so well.
This most recent post brings tears to my eyes. I have personally experienced what Brea is going through and it is so very difficult. I am thanking God that Brea is alive and that it is now necessary to slowly take away the narcots and Ativan, but I remember how very hard that was for me.
I had a thoracotomy three years ago and was heavily medicated during a 3 week hospital stay (Although difficult, nothing compared to what your Brea has encountered). In addition, I was on percocet for four to five additional weeks before realizing that my body had become addicted to the very medicines that were making it all bearable.
The withdrawal was, at times, excruitiatingly difficult. I can see how some people become addicted to Rx drugs. It took will, my husband and God to get me off, but I did it. It took about 10 days after I realized we had a problem.
I thank God for the support system that I had then and for the wonderful support that Brea is receiving from her family.
She'll get through this with your patience and love. She's a blessed little girl and you are one blessed family; Mom, Dad Brooke & Baker.
I would also like to acknowledge what you must be going through, Mom. It took me months to realize how difficult my illness was on my husband. He now describes the withdrawal period with tears in his eyes. It was difficult on him and I know that all of this is very difficult on you as well.
We continue to pray for Brea, you, your children and your husband. I doubt that those of us reading will ever know how very difficult this really is. We might think we know and it might seem horrifying to most of us, but surely it's much worse when you're living it.
Thank you for expressing your faith and deep relationship with our Saviour. He has helped me to grow my faith by watching yours. I thank you and God for that.
Praise be to God for the miracle of your littlest Sweetheart's life.
Blessings to you,
Traci & Family

Congrats Brooke!!! We are so thankful to the Great Lord above that little Brea is doing so well! I wish we could have been there when she was in the hospital but seems like we have all had some allergy and sinus issues and didn't want to spread germs. Hopefully we can see you all soon. We continue to pray for your family and sweet Brea every week with our Sunday School group and, of course, all the time ourselves. We love you all and continue to praise God and pray for a remarkable recovery for Brea!!!!!

We are in Little Rock, but learned of little Brea from Peggy Heller in Knoxville, TN. We used to attend Grace Baptist when we lived in East TN. It is amazing how God can work miracles we cannot even begin to fathom. Praise God He has moved in your all's lives! :-)

Mary,
I got so tickled reading your posting about Barney. I remember when Ben went through the Barney stage. Then, he passed his stuffed Barney onto Brooke. He was so proud when he gave Barney to Brooke. Then, Brooke passed Barney to Baker and now Brea has Barney. As you said, "He is worn, but still loveable." That just makes me smile that Brea likes Barney so much. When Brea was on the phone with me the other day, I was singing "I love you, you love me, we're a happy family." I know that is a song you know all too well, especially after watching 10 times. LOL It is wonderful that you are going to be moving into the apartment. I know the Ronald McDonald House is nice, but because of the precautions you have to take with Brea...it will be best to be in an apartment where you will have your own kitchen to eat in without fear of her coming into contact with someone that has a virus. I am so thankful to the people that are allowing your family to use the apartment. That is very kind of them to do that for your family. May God richly bless them for their generosity. I know it's going to be difficult keeping Brea away from school age children other than Brooke & Baker for a while, but that is what is in her best interest. Please don't feel bad when you have to protect your child and turn someone away with children. Brea has been through way too much already to take any risk. I am praying for Brea as she goes through the withdrawals. Bless her heart! I can't wait to hear how the interview went with the media. Tina did a great job on the press release that she sent out to the media, so I am glad you have had some response. I am at a stand still with what I am working on until I get the names of the medications Brea will be on. I tried calling you a number of times today and so did Tina, but neither of us got through. I'll try again tomorrow, so that I can get the list of prescriptions as well as see how the media interview went. I loved all of the pictures you posted. Brea is looking like her happy self again. Looking at the pictures, anyone that didn't know would not guess that she just went through a heart transplant. God truly has blessed our family with miracles lately. Try not to worry too much about Brooke & Baker. I think under the circumstances, it is normal for them to act a little different. They have been worried about Brea too. Danny & You are such loving parents and I know when you are all home again together...things will get back to normal. I keep Brooke & Baker in my daily prayers. Please tell them that I love them with all of my heart! All of the other children at ACH are in my daily thoughts and prayers. Mary, I am so proud of Danny & You for being so strong and standing firm to your faith as you have gone through this ordeal. Our God is an AWESOME God! You are a beautiful person...inside and out. I am honored to be your sister. Kiss the little peanut for me and tell her that Aunt Tammy loves her very, very much.
I love you,
Tammy

Brea, we love you so much. You brighten our family's day every time we look at your pictures. We pray you'll soon be home every weekend with Brooke and Baker, and Mommy and Daddy.

I have been watching Brea's progress for weeks and cried and rejoiced with you. I brought my son home from China on October 1 so I feel somewhat connected to you.
I just wanted you to know that there are prayers for your family coming from Pennsylvania!

Hooray for the apartment! I assume it is furnished! I am so sorry Brea is suffering from withdrawals. My son took ativan for his seizures, and when he was coming off of it he could not sleep. I know those steroids are a nightmare too, not to mention the methadone. I pray that God will ease Brea's symptoms and that you both will be able to get some rest. I pray that everyone is well this weekend (or the next?) so that you can all be together. Continuing to pray for a good biopsy and for comfort and peace for Brooke and Baker. God bless, Cathy
