Surgery Update #1 11:47 AM
Brea is in the OR as I type. They took her at 8:00 am this morning and it was WAY harder than I could have ever imagined it would be. I did get to hold her for a minute before they took her and it was all I could do to lay her back down in that crib.

The OR nurse has updated us several times and her chest was opened around 9:30 am. Her VSD (her special need) was repaired first and her heart began to beat again as soon as the heart bypass machine was unclamped. The VSD repair was needed so the Berlin heart could work properly. We were told that they would use a patch to repair the VSD but when the surgeon got to it the repair only required stitching! The OR nurse said the Berlin heart was being primed when he left the OR to update us and they hope to have at least one of the canulas (sp?) installed by noon.

Today as you are praying for Brea please include a little guy named Judah in your prayers. I've talked about Judah before in my posts. He has been here 3 months and is not doing so well. Please pray for his mom and dad, Judah's kidneys and blood pressure.

Please join us in praying for Brea and the surgical team working on her throughout the day. It is so comforting to know that God is holding our sweet baby girl in His arms even while she is laying there on the operating table.

I'll update again as soon as I have more information.
