Goodbye Grade School...Hello Middle School! · June 27, 2008

Today was a busy day.  Brooke graduated from 5th grade this morning at 9:30 AM.  She received two awards during the graduation ceremony...the first was an Academic Achievement Award for making straight A's (mostly A+'s) all year.  The second award was for Citizen of the year for her 5th grade class.  She was chosen by her classmates and teacher to receive this award.  Afterwards we went to her classroom for the graduation party and had an opportunity to view the biome project that she has been working on.  We picked up her report card and then we girls went out to lunch while Baker went back to class and Danny went to work.

At 1:30 PM today we went back to the school to see Baker's play.  The title of the play was "Popcicle Boy" and Baker played the role of the Orange Popcicle!  It was a really cute play and Baker did a great job.  He got lots of laughs and Brea really enjoyed the part where he melted!

This evening we attended a pool party at the neighborhood pool to  celebrate the end of the school year.  We were having a great time until we heard thunder!  The party was cut short by an hour but I would say that it was a huge sucess!  The kids really enjoyed themselves in the pool and moon bounce and the ice cream truck that the builders provided was the highlight of the event!

Danny and the kids are fast asleep now, the house is quite and I finally have a moment to myself to reflect on the events of the day.  I can hardly believe that our first born is headed off to middle school in three weeks.  I am so proud of Brooke's achievements but even more proud of the person that she has become.  We truly have so much to be thankful for and tonight as I sit here I feel like I need to pinch myself...could this all be true?  Am I really married to a man that I still adore after 13 years of marriage?  Do I really have three beautiful children?  Yes, it is all true and I must be the most blessed lady alive!  Thank you God for the chaos that I call "my life".  I wouldn't have it any other way.

Enjoy the pictures!
