Update-Brea's check up and a family of 5! · April 27, 2007

Brea had a great check up yesterday!  Her heart function (shortening fraction = 35%) was great and her incisions are healing fine.  Her blood pressure was a little high but the doctor didn't seem worried since she wasn't exactly happy when they took it. ;)

We are once again a family of 5!  Brooke and Baker made it home on Tuesday.  It was awesome to have everyone under the same roof again and to have dinner together at our kitchen table was simply wonderful!  They went back to school on Wednesday and they were thrilled to learn they were going to have the same teachers that they had when they left.  Slowly we are getting back into a routine.  The washing machine is constantly running, the kids bags are not yet unpacked and Brea has toys everywhere now that she is crawling again but I wouldn't trade the craziness for anything.

Last year I lost 47 pounds by changing my eating habits and walking 2-3 miles per day.  Well, in just nine weeks I've put on 10 pounds by being inactive and eating cafeteria food but now that I am home I am back on track.  Brea and I started the week by walking each morning.  She was very quiet on our first walk.  It seemed as if she were soaking up all that nature had to offer...the gentle breeze, the warm sun, the brilliant colors of the Spring flowers and the lush Green grass.  By day two she was busy babbling again and waving to everyone as if she were in a parade...it was so cute.  Whenever we walk in the house she points to the door or window and says "OUT".  She wants nothing to do with being inside so we've blown lots and lots of bubbles and swang more in three days than most kids do in a lifetime.  She is also back on the road in her little Red car and loving every minute of it!

I know many of you have been praying about our financial situation (insurance & Medicaid) and I wanted to share with you that God is putting people in our lives to help with the situation.  Another adoptive mom has offered to organize a program that would cover the cost of Brea's medicines each month.  She is looking for 30 churches to commit to $100 per month for one year or to make a one time donation of $1,200.  If you are interested in learning more about the program you can email her at bobby_lee201@yahoo.com.  She will email you the information to present to your church.  We have always felt that God would provide for our every need He is.  My faith remains in Him and His word.

Here are a few pictures from the last few days.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I've enjoyed taking them.

Gotta run...time to blow more bubbles with Miss Brea!
