Today I watched Brea jump off the side of the pool at least 100 times!  She would swim back to the stairs and do it again and again while giggling with pure delight!  She loves the water, she loves playing with her siblings in the pool, she loves teaching her barbie dolls to "swim" and she loves being outside in the fresh air!  Luckily we live in Louisiana where swim season begins in April and doesn't end until late October so our little fish gets plenty of swim time in at the neighborhood pool.  But today as I watched Brea I couldn't help but think of my niece, Heather and the battle that she is fighting right now.

In April of 2010 my beautiful niece Heather learned that she had Hodgkins Lymphoma.  She received chemo and went into remission in December but just a few shorts weeks later we learned that her cancer was back.  She underwent more chemo, 20 radiation treatments, traveled to Boston from Augusta to see some of the best oncologist in the business and fought with courage and faith while doing her best to continue her daily life as a wife, mother and school teacher.  Needless to say, those things didn't work and she is now in a hospital in Atlanta trying to get into a clinical trial to treat her cancer.  This morning she was taken to the operating room where surgeons removed fluid from around her heart.  This evening she is resting comfortably in ICU on a ventilator.  Why am I telling you all of this?  Well, it is really pretty simple.  We need you, Brea's prayer warriors, to storm the gates of heaven on her behalf!

Today as I watched Brea playing in the pool I couldn't help but think of the many, many days that I spent sitting by Brea's bed praying that God would heal her.  It was painful.  It was scary.  It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do but I was blessed with  people all over the world who joined us in prayer day in and day out on behalf of our little princess.  Brea's story is not unlike Heathe'sr story because Brea's doctors were running out of options too.  They told us many, many times that if it were not God's will for Brea to live then there was nothing that they could do to change the outcome.  Well, it obviously was God's will and he granted us a miracle.  He answered our prayers and glory was and is still being given to the great physician for the gift of life that he gave to Brea!  Now we have an opportunity to intercede on Heather's behalf.  Will you join us in praying for a miracle?  Heather is just 30 years old.  She is a wife, mother to a beautiful 5 year old little boy, a school teacher, a grandaughter, a niece, a daughter, a daughter in law, a cousin, a co-worker, a friend and a fellow christian.  I just know that Heather's story is touching lives just as Brea's did.  Will you join us in praying for God's healing hand on Heather?  If you would take a moment and leave a note in the comment section for her with your city, state and country, I will print them out and get them to her.  There is nothing that feels better when you are sick and weak than hearing that folks all over the world are lifting you up in prayer!  God is still in the business of miracles, He is still the great physician and He does hear and answer our prayers!
