Two years ago today... · October 15, 2008

Two years ago today in a hot government office in Xian, China we were handed a beautiful baby girl.  She was dressed exactly like the other two children from her orphanage and she was sweating terribly.  In her hand she held tightly to her only possession...the little photo album we had sent to her a month earlier.  Our long adoption journey had come to an end but our future as a family of five was just beginning.  I am so thankful that God doesn't ask us how much we can handle.  Had he done that I'm afraid I would have told Him that He had the wrong couple.  Now I realize that God doesn't always call the equipped but He always equips those He calls.

To our China travel group...Happy Gotcha Day!  You will always hold a special place in our hearts and we will always think of you each year on this day!  We miss you!

We celebrated Brea's 2nd Gotcha Day with a trip to Hillridge Farm this morning.  The kids went down the giant slide, played in the corn house and sandbox, rode the train, went on a hay ride and visited the pumpkin patch.  We ended a perfect day on the farm with a picnic under a big shade tree.  I know what you are thinking...Brea must have taken a nap after all that but no she didn't.  She is still going full speed ahead and probably will until 8:30 pm when she collapses with her taggie and Barney.  Life is good...good indeed!  Enjoy the photos!
