Brea's Thanksgiving program, Snow and Turkeys! · November 21, 2008

Today was a busy day.  Baker woke everyone up bright and early to tell us that it was snowing outside!  We checked the news to see if school was cancelled and saw that the snow was not going to last long so the kids bundled up and headed outside.  This was Brea's first experience with snow and she loved it!  Brooke and Baker showed her how to catch snow flakes on her tongue and she really got a kick out of that.  As soon as we were back inside the snow stopped and the kids got ready for school.

Brea had her Thanksgiving program at school this morning.  She was dressed as an indian girl.  Her class sang three songs.  My favorite song was "I Am Thankful".  The words to the song are..."I am thankful, I am thankful, yes I am, yes I am, thankful for my mommy, thankful for my daddy and my food, and my food."  She had been practicing for weeks and she sang it at the top of her lungs!  I was so proud of her.

As soon as we left the Thanksgiving program we headed to our Friday playgroup.  We are members of OAKS which stands for Our Asian Kids.  The group is made up of families with children adopted from all over Asia.  We meet every Friday for a play group and throughout the year for cultural events.  Today was special because the kids were making turkey cupcakes.  They turned out great and the kids had just as much fun taking them apart and eating them as they did putting them together.

The snow is gone now and the kids are in bed.  The house is quite which is a rare thing these days.  There is laundry to be done and the dishwasher needs to be unloaded but that can all wait because I just had to share these pictures.  It was a busy day but a great day...turkeys and all!.  Enjoy the pictures!
