Our little peanut celebrated her birthday on the hottest day of the year (so far)! It was 100 degrees here yesterday and the heat index was even higher but the party was a success and I think everyone had a great time. We set up the slip-n-slide and the whale sprinkler so the kids could stay cool and we had tents set up to provide shade. Danny was able to borrow a giant fan that we set up at the end of the tents and surprisingly it kept it rather cool under there. The kids played in the water and bounced in the giant birthday cake all afternoon. Needless to say...we had no trouble putting them to bed last night. :0)
It is so amazing to look back over the past year and see how much Brea has changed. Yesterday she could be seen RUNNING across the back yard (on her 2nd birthday she couldn't even walk). She even learned how to use the slip-n-slide but since she is so small she didn't make it very far so she needed some assistance (see photo). She even tried climbing into the moon bounce all by herself and once inside she yelled to her little friends from up the street to "Come on boys". She is an amazing little girl with a sense of determination that is going to serve her well in life. God's hand in Brea's life has already been so evident and to see her blossom and grow each day is a constant reminder that God is still in the business of answering prayers!
