A biopsy and new photos · February 21, 2008

Brea will be admitted to Duke University Hospital on Thursday (2/21/08) morning for a heart biopsy to check for rejection.  Needless to say, I am nervous.  This is her first biopsy in quite some time and her first one at Duke.  They told us today that they might keep her over night because they will be going through the groin area instead of her neck so PLEASE pray that all goes well and that the results come back and show ZERO rejection!!!  A dear friend reminded me today that the same God that saw Brea through her hospitalization, transplant and recovery will be the there with her (and us) on Thursday and will see her through once again.  Thank you Anita for that reminder.  What a wonderful comfort to know that God is the same today as He was yesterday and the same as He will be next week, next month and next year!

I'd also like to ask that you pray for a little girl who was also adopted from with a congenital heart defect who has had surgery at Duke.  Her recovery has been rough and she is still there.  I've been in contact with her mom via email and on Thursday while Brea is in the cath lab I am going to visit with her for a moment.  Please pray that God will give me the exact words of encouragement to say to her.  I was blessed with so many wonderful ladies who stopped in while Brea was in the hospital to see me and pray with me and now it is my turn to hopefully be supportive and encouraging to Claire's mother.

I will post when I have the biopsy results.  Until then, please pray!

Here are a few more recent photos of our little one.  I had trouble getting them to load the other night...I'm sure it was operator error. :)  Enjoy!
