Update-March 6th-THE FEVER IS GONE!
Brea's fever broke during the night and she has had no fever today! I am POSITIVE that this is a result of the many prayers being said for her! Her urine culture came back today positive for a UTI. They suspect it was caused from her foley (catheter sp?) which is no longer in to lessen the chance of an infection. I never thought I'd say this but I am excited to be changing diapers again. Wink

The morning started with a much needed manicure for Miss Brea. It is a good thing that I cut them while I had a chance because the transplant team decided to start her on Heperine to thin her blood and once that was started she cannot have her nails cut.

An echocardiogram was done this morning and the news was not good. Her heart function is less than it was when we got here and she has LOTS of fluid which is causing her heart to be even larger than it was. Her liver is also enlarged from extra fluid. The doctors started her on another medicine called Bumex to try to get rid of those extra fluids so I am praying that it works. When the extra fluid is gone her lung might also function better.

It is such a joy to witness the power of prayer! I think the fever breaking is just the first of many good things to come. Our God is an Awesome God!

Thank you again for your continued prayers and support. We are overwhelmed at the outpouring of love from the China Adoption community, our church, our families and friends.  It would be easy to stress over the financial burden that a catastrophic illness can bring but right now my main concern is getting Brea better. The Lord has always provided and this situation is no exception.

Good night from the bedside of our little China doll.
