Milwaukee, Slinger and the Family Reunion · July 15, 2008

Our time in Indiana was over much too quickly and we were once again on the road to visit family in Milwaukee.  We spent the evening with Danny's Auntie Janice and Uncle Jerry.  We had a wonderful time catching up and visiting and we even got to see his Auntie Karen, cousin Katie and her family and our nieces Katelyn and Taylor.  The next morning we headed over to Miller for a quick tour.  Brooke and Baker are big fans of the show "How Its Made" so we thought they would enjoy the beer factory but the smell was a little overwhelming and they were eager to get out of there and on the road again.

Our next stop took us to Slinger, Wi where we visited with another family that we traveled to China with.  Dan and Nancy just returned from China two weeks earlier with their latest addition and we were able to meet her too!  She is absolutely adorable and as sweet as pie!  It was wonderful to see their older girls Julieanna and Gracie.  Gracie is from the same province as Brea and Dan and Nancy adopted her at the same time that we adopted Brea.  The girls played the entire time we were there and Brooke and Baker had a ball playing with them!  Before we knew it our time there was over and we were on the road again to our next stop in Green Bay.

We arrived late in Green Bay and spent the evening with Danny's Aunt Mary and Uncle Tom before heading up to the family reunion on Saturday morning in Oconto Falls, WI.

The reunion was a blast!!!  The kids met second cousins that they had never met before and Danny's extended family met our newest addition (Brea) for the first time!  There was swimming, a serious game of baseball and ladder ball to keep us all busy.  That evening we toasted marshmallows over a fire and made S'Mores and Sharon's patio was converted to a dance floor under the starry sky.  The next morning brought lots of sad goodbyes and our journey home began.

Our road trip has now come to an end.  We have made it safely home after driving almost 3,000 miles in 10 days.  We visited lots and lots of wonderful friends and family and God truly watched over us as we made our way through the curves of the mountains and the congested city streets of Chicago.  The kids only had a few minor conflicts (usually over which movie to watch) and mommy and daddy still have a full head of hair so I'd have to say that it was a great trip for all.

Thank you for your prayers for our safety (and sanity).  Enjoy the photos!!!
