TB results and a visit to the medicine market · August 31, 2009

We returned to the medical clinic for them to read the results of the TB skin test.  It was VERY crowded but our guide pushed through the lines and got us in and out of there in less than 10 minutes.  Bailey's skin test was negative so there was no need for a chest x-ray!  We heard yesterday of two children being adopted by Americans who had positive skin test and needed x-rays.  One had a positive x-ray and her family was headed to the hospital with her.  The other child's x-ray showed that she has an enlarged heart (boy, did that bring back some bad memories).  It makes us thankful to only be dealing with fever from shots and a number of bug bites.  Please keep the two families in your prayers.

Bailey is feeling much, much better.  Her fever is gone and her personality is back!  She keeps us laughing with all the faces she makes and the way she picks on Danny.  I know you see Danny with her in all the pictures but there are several reasons for that.  Brea is looking at the photos daily and I don't want her to think she has been replaced (she is very much a mommy's girl).  Also, Bailey loves to play with her daddy.  She looks to mommy when she feels bad, wants to be rocked, held or read to.  Last but not least...I am the picture taker.  I've told Danny many, many times that if anything ever happened to me our kids would think I didn't exist since there are few photos of me in most of our albums.

Yesterday we walked across the foot bridge into Guangzhou and visited the traditional Chinese medicine market.  I'll let the photos speak for themselves.  We saw everyday life in China as we walked along the city streets.  I hope you enjoy seeing the photos of life in China as much as we have enjoyed experiencing it.  It is a very different world and we are grateful to have seen first hand what our Chinese daughter's lives would have been like had they grown up here.

We leave for Beijing tomorrow night after our consulate appointment and then we take the early flight out on Thursday morning for home!  Hang in there Brea, Brea...mommy, daddy and Bailey are coming home soon!  We love you guys and can't wait to see you!

Guess who hates to get her teeth brushed? I don't think she has ever seen a toothbrush because she had no clue what to do with it.
