3 Down...1 to Go! (IL, MI & IN behind us, WI in sight!) · July 09, 2008

The kids are on Summer break and we are on the road on a family adventure!  So far we have visited the states of IL, MI and IN and we are headed out in the morning to WI for the last lef of the trip.

Chicago was wonderful!  We spent time at Navy Pier, Sears Tower, Hershey's and the American Girl Place.  We rode the huge ferris wheel and carosel on the Pier and stopped many times to enjoy the street corner musicians.  Brea saw her first fireworks show and we frequented a little Irish Diner on Grand Street called D4 (an Irish zip code) and got to know the owner who created a three scoop root beer float that he named the B&B after Brooke and Baker!  We wish we could have stayed longer but we were on a schedule and after three busy days in the big city we were off again to our next stop.

Our next stop was in Hudsonville, MI to visit Brea's crib mate from the orphanage and her family that we traveled to China with in October 2006.  It was wonderful to see them again and to see the girls together.  On Monday afternoon two other families that we traveled with who live in the area came over for a cookout and swimming.  The kids had a great time playing together and the highlight of the evening was when Brea, Samantha and Emme danced and sang on the ottoman!  Before we knew it our time together was over and we were on the road again to Huntertown, IN.

We arrived in Huntertown, IN on Tuesday to visit Danny's cousin Steve and his family as well as his Uncle John and Aunt Jeanette.  Brea got her first ride on a double decker carosel today and Brooke and Baker got to race their cousins Nick and Sara at the local go-kart track.  Aunt Jeanette treated us to a wonderful home cooked meal last night at their home and even served us on the fine china!

We will hit the road again in the morning headed to Milwaukee.  Please pray for our sanity and safety as we continue on our adventure.  A great big thank you to Karen and Curt, Steve and Julie and Uncle John and Aunt Jeanette for their hospitality and a great big thank you to Amber for caring for our home and pets while we are gone.  Enjoy the photos!!!
